Subsystem 78/58 — High-Voltage Generator & HT Tank Bias
The high-voltage generator failed to stabilize at commanded kV/mA setpoints within the programmed interlock window. This typically signals an open secondary cooling flow switch, filament bias drift, dielectric oil overheating, or an arc threshold trip in the high-voltage bias loop.

Why shouldn't I repeatedly power-cycle a non-communicating spectrometer?
When SuperQ cannot connect or the communication bus locks up, cycling the main breaker forces unregulated power transients into the Single Board Computer (SBC) and NIOS controller. In our field experience, repeated cycling frequently corrupts on-board flash calibration parameters and risks filament shock in the X-ray tube.
Does RDS offer component-level repair or only board replacement?
Unlike the OEM—who routinely quotes total assembly replacements with 8–12 week backorders—RDS specializes in direct component-level repair and firmware unbricking for SBCs, NIOS boards, and HT generator controllers. We also maintain tested exchange boards ready for same-day courier shipment.
